Plaquemine Depot Market
Plaquemine Depot Market is located in the former Plaquemine railroad depot building in the heart of Plaquemine's historic district. Built in 1926, the brick structure was the center of town activities from the early 1900s to the mid-century. It features a market of arts, crafts, collectables, custom framing and framed art, cypress, pottery, gifts and antiques.
It was used as the city police station from 1968 until 1996, and was then restored and committed to economic development of the areas. The charm of the building was recaptured in its restoration. The building is rented out by the City to boutique shops featuring art, unique gift items, flowers, children's apparel and more. Visit the Depot for a wonderful shopping experience with old-fashioned small town service and great Southern hospitality.
