City Inspector
The Public Works Department handles a wide variety of city maintenance issues, including all city street repairs, maintaining sidewalks, litter, grass cutting, drainage problems, dead animals in roads, storm debris clean-up on public property, oil spilling on roads from traffic accidents, etc.
The department is led by Public Works Director Louis Guidry, and includes a staff of 17 people. They operate numerous pieces of equipment, including a backhoe, street sweepers, street roller to make street repairs, tractors, bushhogs and lawnmowers.
If you have a problem, such as a pothole, drainage issue, or other maintenance issue, call 225-687-2036 during working hours. A work order will be produced and the problem scheduled for correction. If an emergency occurs after working hours, call 225-687-4796. Several department employees are on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.
