City Inspector
The City Inspector Department issues building permits, handles inspections of construction, renovation or addition projects, and issues contractor licenses. It also handles the legal process of disposing of abandoned buildings, houses and vehicles and issues grass cutting notices. The department also handles zoning issues and building inspections. Also serves as City Code Enforcement Office. This office also serves as ADA/Section 504 Compliance Officer. Application for a Contractor’s License - Any contractor doing work in the City of Plaquemine is required to obtain a Contractor’s License. Request(s) for inspection must be made by the respective building contractor, electrician and plumber performing the work at the job site. No inspections shall be performed without the permit being displayed on the job site. Certificate of Occupancy A certificate of Occupancy will be issued upon completion of all inspections and payments have been made. No one shall be allowed to move in until a certificate of occupancy has been issued.
