The City Light and Water system is comprised of all four utility services – electricity, natural gas, water and sewer service.
The entire system is publicly owned, operated, and maintained by the City of Plaquemine. Services are provided to a total of about 12,000 customers, including residents of Plaquemine and those living in the outlying areas of the city.
The City of Plaquemine is embarking on a $13 million project to improve and extend sewer service to un-served unincorporated areas in the Iberville Parish region. Presently these areas have no sewerage collection and treatment, individual septic tanks and drain fields, or individual treatment plants. To address existing City and current regional needs, the City proposes the upgrade of the treatment plant as well as construction of an improved collection system.

AVERAGE MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN
The average monthly payment plan is a program offered by the City of Plaquemine, which allows you to pay almost the same each month for your electric, gas and water services.
It is calculated by adding the current twelve (12) months of bills and dividing that amount by twelve (12), to get your monthly payment. This is called a Rolling Average.
