Pick Up Plaquemine - Chairman - in conjunction with Cleanest City Contest Mayor Gulotta has continued working with the community in beautifying and landscaping various areas.
Louisiana Energy and Power Authority (LEPA) - currently President and City of Plaquemine representative. Plaquemine owns its own utility company and receives its power from LEPA. LEPA is a 19-city member utility organization whereby each municipality owns its own utility company.
Plaquemine Historic District Commission Chairman - 1993 to present,
Oversees the Plaquemine Main Street Program. Mayor Gulotta has taken a leadership role in restoring our circa 1848 Old City Hall building which was opened as the Iberville Museum in June, 2000; and an 1848 building that now houses the city’s state-of-the art Plaquemine Police Dept.
Plaquemine Depot Market Project - Opened October, 1998
The railroad depot was built in 1926 under Huey P. Long administration, acquired by the City in 1968 and used by the Police Dept until 1996. Mayor Gulotta has worked to revitalize the depot into a unique downtown shopping area.
COPAC - Under the Mayor’s leadership, the City acquired the vacant Plaquemine Jr. High School (c. 1948) in the heart of Plaquemine. The site was renamed the City of Plaquemine Activity Center (COPAC) in 1996.
